Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE Level C – High Risk) qualified. Unit Master Marksmanship Instructor and Chief Range Safety Officer for 2 years. Earned the Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB). Qualified expert with pistol and rifle/carbine for 20 years.
Combat Experience:
Deployed to both Iraq (1x) and Afghanistan (2x) in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) for a combined 31 months. Provided direct medical support for over 1,275 combat patrols. Treated 99 trauma casualties at the point of injury/Battalion Aid Station. Earned the Combat Medical Badge (CMB) and the Combat Action Badge (CAB).
Combat Medic Instructor:
Trained 500 new Army Combat Medics in 3 years. Certified as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Instructor, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3) Instructor. Test and Evaluation Team member for the Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT), Generation 7, used by the US DoD and our NATO Allies.
Certified Protection Specialist (CPS):
Graduate of the Executive Security International, Ltd. Advanced Executive Protection program in Aspen, CO. Operated as a Protection Specialist for 10 years. Conducted security assessments and threat management, asset protection, special event security, and close target surveillance. Conducted close protection details for celebrities, business professionals, and 20 pro-athletes, including retired boxing legend World Heavy Weight Champion, Muhammad Ali.
Edged Weapons Instructor:
Certified under Paul Vunak, Progressive Fighting Systems, Inc. (PFS) at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Headquarters - San Diego, CA.
Counter Assault Tactics Instructor:
Jeet Kune Do/Filipino Martial Arts (JKD/FMA) certified instructor under Paul Vunak, PFS, Inc. This combatives program was specifically developed to train the original US Navy SEAL Team 6.
